Geocycle subscribes to the philosophy and practices of Sustainable Development (SD), which is defined as "development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."

SD is a priority for Geocycle. Put simply, the goals of SD matter most of all to us as individuals. They go beyond corporate objectives. Economic growth and healthy financial returns are the decisive factors that enable companies to help provide a more sustainable future. Geocycle is committed to fulfilling its full and proper role in this effort by following a concept known as Industrial Ecology. In essence, it follows the example set by nature in which the waste of one organism is used beneficially by another. Just as we use the oxygen emitted from plants and they use the CO2 we exhale, industry can benefit by using wastes that others generate. That is the basic function of co-processing - to use waste generated by others as a fuel source or as additives for manufacturing, recovering the energy and mineral content embedded in the waste.

It is a business reality that most decisions within our nationwide operations touch upon SD's interdependent economic, environmental and social factors, also known as the triple bottom line.
