(February 1, 2009) - Geocycle LLC is the first waste management company in the United States to achieve certification of its quality, safety and environmental management systems.Geocycle operating facilities in the US are certified by International Organizations for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2000 for quality management and by ISO 14001:2004 for comprehensive environmental management. Now, in 2009, Geocycle has enhanced its systems by securing Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001:2007 for management of health, safety and risk management.The certifications show that Geocycle management systems are "fully integrated in a way that enables achievement of quality, environmental protection and safety targets," says Bill Zeigler, Geocycle's Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality Manager. It establishes a unified system for continual improvement to three areas vital to corporate sustainable development."Our customers recognize the importance of independent accreditation and it reaffirms that they can collaborate with Geocycle to reach their waste and sustainability objectives," says Rob Davies, President of Geocycle.Geocycle's next goal is to be confirmed as conforming to the Guidelines on Co-processing Waste Materials in Cement Production that are the result of a public private partnership between the German government for international cooperation on sustainable development GTZ (Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit) and Holcim Ltd. Having ISO management systems and OHSAS directives integrated with the guidelines on co-processing " ensures that we are meeting the highest standards in our business" says Zeigler.
